This walk weaves you through thick vine forest where you can see the tracks from wallabies, bandicoots and brush-turkeys that have criss-crossed the track to venture through the forest. You arrive at a comfortable seat where you can take a break, surrounded by the peaceful sounds of the mountain.
This walk is rated as moderate to strenuous. Turn back at this point if you are having any difficulty. The track from here to the summit is a continuous, steep climb.
Woowoonga is about 90 minutes’ drive from Maryborough, 60 minutes’ drive from Bundaberg and 14 km north of Biggenden. Turn off the Childers Road into Giles Road 6.5 km north of Biggenden. Drive 2.5 km then turn left into Woowoonga Hall Road. Continue for 2 km then turn right into Mount Woowoonga Road and continue 3 km to the picnic area.
