Yesterday I entered the Pomona King of the Mountain Race and I’m feeling it today!
A good sore all over – legs, arms, shoulders, back; talk about the Ultimate Workout and Awesome Fun!

I went with my friend Carol who participated in the Zinc 96.1FM Mountain Dash 2.8km before the main race. Carol got chatting to Sarah Mycroft who is the first woman to run continuously around Australia, who I also met after the main event as Sarah went in that at the last minute too! It’s Excellent to be among and meet so many friendly and like minded people!

The main race at 3pm, The Bendigo Bank International Mountain Challenge, is a steep, almost vertical climb up the mountain, 4.2km race to the top of the 439 metres high mountain and back.
I came 88th out of 100 competitors in 52:20 mins = 650 calories ✔

Looking at the Splits on Runkeeper I took  34:57 mins to pretty much crawl to the top and 17:23mins to get back down to the finish line.

On the way down one of the volunteers asked me if I had ‘Jelly Legs’ yet?
I thought hardly, I’d been up and down the mountain about seven times before without ‘Jelly Legs’ but certainly not at this pace!
Opps spoke to soon, as I hit the the base of the mountain to run home ‘Jelly Legs’ totally kicked in, now I knew what he meant.
I had to really concentrate as I didn’t have control of my legs like I normally did, they went abit numb also, quite an unusual feeling!
